Carl "Casey" Frank Jenkins, 89, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015. Born in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Miller Blaine Jenkins and Cleavie Helms Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins, along with his father and brothers, owned and operated Jenkins Dairy until 1977. He then went to work with Sunshine Uniform until he retired. An avid gardener who took great pride in his yard, and avid sports fan, Mr. Jenkins was a member of Myrtle United Methodist Church. Mr. Jenkins served in the US Army during World War II, having fought in the D-Day Invasion. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Gaston County Honor Guard.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his brothers, Lander, Mel, Leonard and Glenn, and his sisters, Vergie, Ethel, Violet, Ollie and Margaret.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Murriel Lathan Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Regina "Gina" Jenkins Walker and James "Jackie" Walker; granddaughter, Amber Putnam; grandson, Eric Walker; great-grandchildren, Carly, Jackson, Nikolas and Kaylee; brother and sister-in-law, James "Jim" and Ada Mae Jenkins; sister, Ruby Bookout.

Family and friends of Mr. Jenkins are invited to attend his visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM Monday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with his funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM in Founders Chapel. The Reverend Kim Higgins will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Gaston County Honor Guard will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
