Funeral mass for Louise J. Eichhorn/Stanley will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 219 E. Rockwood Blvd., Spokane, Washington on April 26, 2003 at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Louise was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota where she grew up on a dairy farm with many siblings. After high school she joined the Waves and was stationed in Washington, DC. After the Navy she moved to Montana where she worked at Yellowstone Park and met her husband, Jack Stanley. They were married and moved to Spokane in 1949 where they lived and raised their five boys. Louise lost Jack suddenly in 1964. She continued to manage the household and work as a single mother until she met her second husband Aubrey J. Eichhorn (Ike). Ike was Louise's neighbor and had six children of his own. They were married and soon moved to Walla Walla, Washington with seven of the younger children. Although she enjoyed being a housewife and mother the most, she also spent time as a model, secretary and buying and selling real estate. Ike and Louise enjoyed traveling, fishing and antiquing until Ike's death in 1996. Louise enjoyed volunteer work for St. Vincent's for many years. Her devotion to her religion gave her a great sense of strength in her commitment to her family. After Ike's death she moved back to Spokane, WA, in 2001. She is survived by her loving family, John and Debbie Stanley, Joe and Shaun Stanley, Mike and Jerilyn Stanley, David and Laurie Stanley, Ernie Eichhorn, Mary Eichhorn, Julie and Ben Rowland, Wilma Worden, Sheila Eichhorn, Terry Eichhorn and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Jack Stanley, son James Stanley, husband Ike Eichhorn, and brother Don Braun. She will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Louise's name to the MaryKnoll Missionary Association, PO Box 307, MaryKnoll, NY 10545.--Spokesman-Review, April 24, 2003, Col. 2
