Glen Stanley White, 72, of Springfield passed away Friday evening, November 27, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born December 27, 1942 in Scottville the son of Herschel and Beatrice Marie Bettis White. He married Martha Ozier and later married Erma Hooker. They both preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Rick White, of Lexington, KY, Tina White, Keith Underwood and Greg White, all of Springfield; 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; his loving partner, who he spent the last 5 years of his life with, Alice Copeland of Springfield; one brother, Wendell White of Mexico, MO; two sisters, Sylvia Miller, of Murrayville and Donna McLaughlin of Waverly and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Christol Underwood and one brother, Eugene White (surviving wife, Mary of Jacksonville).
Mr. White had been employed as a Hydraulic Mechanic at Drake-Scruggs Equipment in Springfield for over 40 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Waverly. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, cooking, woodworking and listening to country music.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly with burial at Waverly East Cemetery.
