Annie Rebecca Bailey Lowe, 91, of Irene, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Salem-Irene Cemetery near Irene.

Annie was born on January 7, 1920 in Hill County near Hubbard; the daughter of the late James and Margaret Phelps Bailey.

She graduated from Floydada High School in 1937. After finishing Business School in 1939, she moved back to Hill County. She worked for the Selective Service Board during World War II.

On July 4, 1947 she married C. Hugh Lowe and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1978.

She also worked at the First National Bank and the Post Office in Irene. She served as election judge for many years for general elections. Annie was a member of the Church of Christ in Hubbard and past member of the Home Demonstration Club in Hill County.

Also preceding her in death were 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include her sons, Jim F. Lowe of Irene and Jackie Lowe of Hewitt; 2 granddaughters; 3 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
