S.P.C. Christopher Wade Atkinson, 21, was tragically taken away Saturday, August 26, 2006. Chris was born February 28, 1985.
Chris served with honor and distinction as a member of Army A. Co. 386 Engineering Battalion during operation Iraqi Freedom. Chris was a graduate of Leander High School class of 2003.
Chris was kind, generous and will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Chris is survived by his mother Debbie Bennett of Cedar Park, TX, father Howard Atkinson of Bryan, TX. Brother Kenneth Atkinson and his wife Kristi and their two children Alexis and Keith. Brother "Bubba" Clayton Henderson, step-sister Clare Henderson. Grandparents Charline Scholz of Madisonville, TX, Kenneth and Dorothy Moore of Trinity, TX. Great grandfather Clyde C. Moore of Madisonville, TX, and several aunts, uncle and cousins.
A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2006, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home,1700 E. Whitestone Blvd. Cedar Park, TX. Funeral services will be held at Beck Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with a military graveside service following at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, TX.
