Betty Jean Rhoton, 89, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 2, 2009 at Parkview Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 27, 1920 in Muncie, the daughter of Frank and Daisy Rhoton.
Betty was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. She had been a caring and loving daughter, caring for her parents at their time of need. Betty also enjoyed playing the marimba.
Survivors include one sister, Henrietta Cole (husband-Auten); one niece, Ladonna Dingledine (husband-Steve); one nephew, Charles Cole; three great-nieces and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Rev. B. Charlotte Overmyer officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the mortuary from 11:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be directed to High Street United Methodist Church, 219 S. High St., Muncie, IN 47305.
