Wiscasset - Bertha E. Reed, 89, 0f Hodge Street died Tuesday October 13, 2015 at Coves Edge in Damariscotta.

She was born in Damariscotta on September 13, 1926, a daughter of Frank and Bernice (Barnes) Reed.

She attended Wiscasset schools and Wiscasset Academy.

She was employed in the Wiscasset area all of her life taking care of children and the elderly in their homes.

She enjoyed gardening , animals, Halloween and especially spending time with her family.

She is survived by three brothers, F. Eugene Reed and his wife Yvonne of Dresden, Daniel E. Reed and his wife Mary of Wiscasset and Charles Reed of Wiscasset, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Bertha was predeceased by one brother, Earl D. Reed, two sisters, Ruth Reed and Virginia Reed.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday at DAIGLE FUNERAL HOME, 819 High Street, Bath. Burial will follow at Old Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset.
