Born February 4, 1947 in Bethesda, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Tate.
Karen attended Gaithersburg High School and was a graduate of the class of 1965. She worked for the Montgomery County Department of Corrections, retiring in 2008.
Surviving are her daughter Marykay Jebroun and husband Redouan, two grandchildren Jessica and Dylan; a nephew Roger King, Jr.; six great nieces and nephews, three great-great nephews, and one great-great niece.
She is preceded in death by her sister Beverly Ellen King, and niece Karen Louise King Stevars.
The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday November 29, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Oak Cemetery, Gaithersburg, Maryland.
