Dear brother-in-law of Beatrice Strong of Southampton. Predeceased by his brothers Earl and Lewis and his parents, John and Alice (Coleman) Strong.
* Jim was a retired veteran of the Second World War.
William was a long time employee of Gay Lea Foods. He was an avid hunter, bowler and curler and a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Family and friends were received at RHODY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Chesley on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. where a Royal Canadian Legion service will be held at 7 p.m.
A funeral service was held at the funeral home on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 1 p.m. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chesley Legion would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. www.rhodyfamily.com

* William Strong, his Regimental Number was A 47047 and he served with the 1st Med, Royal Canadian Army and his rank was that of a Gunner.His service was from July 1940 to October 1945. The places he was stationed were; Canada,England,Central Med,Central Europe and Holland.
The Second World War took place from 1939 to 1945. It was the third major conflict Canada participated in and over 45,000 Canadian lives were lost.
