He was raised in his birth community and received his early education there. Bill grew up during a difficult time, but discovered that he was tough enough to endure just about anything. A lesson he would certainly hand down to his children and family through the years.
Bill served his country in World War II when he joined the U.S. Army. Following his service, he began employment for Warehouse Market in the produce department. Later his career would be in the trucking and transportation industry as a salesman.
On April 14, 1951 he married Floetta Castleberry in an Arkansas wedding ceremony. The couple made their home in Tulsa and began their family. Eventually, White Horn Cove on Ft. Gibson Lake was home for the Tadpole couple until moving to Claremore to be closer to their daughter.

Those family that survive Bill include his daughter and husband; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four siblings and spouses; a sister-in-law; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of over sixty years, Floetta (Castleberry) Tadpole (May 21, 2012); children Billy DeWayne, Bobby Harvey and Virginia Chandler and sisters Lucinda Gaither and Claudia Tibbs.
A graveside service, with military honors, to remember the life of William Rufus "Bill" Tadpole will be 10:00 am, Friday, November 6, 2015 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm at Rice Funeral Service.
