Audrey E. Peterson, 90, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, surrounded by her family.

Audrey was born on March 17, 1925 in Folden Township, rural Vining, MN, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Nelson) Hermanson. She grew up in Folden Township, rural Vining and was baptized and confirmed at Folden Lutheran Church. She attended country school district #249 in rural Vining.

On July 18, 1955 she married Norris Peterson in Sisseton, SD. The couple resided in Parkers Prairie and later moved to Grand Forks. She was employed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store. After her husband’s death in 1970, she moved to Fergus Falls in 1971 and was employed at the Fergus Falls Jr. High School cafeteria, where she continued to work until her retirement in 1991 as the kitchen supervisor.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, where she was involved in WELCA and the quilting group and was also a former member of the Grand Forks VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, handiwork, reading, pontoon rides on Pebble Lake, gardening, canning, playing cards, traveling the western United States and the cruise she took to Alaska. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and loved watching her grandchildren play hockey and soccer.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Norris, infant son; three sisters, Beatrice (Orvell) Christopherson, Ethel (Harry) Leibold, Helen (Herb) Nelson; brother, Roy Hermanson; niece, Janet Christopherson; brother-in-law, Walter Lundby; mother and father-in-law, Ed and Mabel Peterson; sisters-in-law, Hazel (Clarence) Johnson, Carol (Alvin) Brutlag, Eva Mae (Ralph) Schimke, Katie Peterson; brothers-in-law, Earl (Marie) Peterson, Lloyd Peterson, Bob St. Germain.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Brian) Bond of West Fargo, ND, Patricia (Kirk) Sjolie of Dent, MN; grandchildren, Jake Sjolie, Jason Bond, Megan (Justin) Stock, Kaylee Bond, Matthew Bond; the highlight of her life, great granddaughter, Lidija Marie Stock, who she lovingly called “Fancy Pants”; sister, Eleanor Lundby of Fergus Falls; sisters-in-law, Betty Hermanson, Ruth St. Germain, Betty Peterson and brother-in-law, Roy Peterson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caretakers at the PioneerCare suites, for the care they gave to Audrey.

Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 with a public prayer service at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
