Born February 26, 1928, in Rochester, she was the last surviving child of the late Frank and Edna (Brunner) Blackburn. On April 2, 1948, Alice was united in marriage to the late Wayne E. Weigel who preceded her in death on September 30, 2000. Presbyterian by faith, Alice enjoyed making a home for her husband and family. Known for her good-natured personality, Alice earned the nickname "Giggles" for her jolly disposition.
She will be sadly missed by her five children, Gregory Weigel and his wife, Georgine, and Randy Weigel and his wife, Joyce, all of Center Township, Thomas Weigel of Sewickley, Mark Weigel of Butler and Cynthia Elmer and her husband, Paul, of Port St. Lucie, FL; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Pearson and a brother, Donald Blackburn.
A funeral service will be held for the immediate family on Saturday, November 28th, at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724) 728-4000, with the Rev. Lee Bittner, officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
