SHIELDS, Larry Thomas Age 58 of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Larry had been working as a dispatcher and alarm technician at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne. Larry was a paramedic and firefighter for Randolph Township Fire Department and the former Fire Chief for the Phillipsburg Fire Department. He was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife: Lisa (Pierce) Shields, sons: Matthew (Janine) Shields of Phillipsburg, Thomas (Angela) Shields of FL, daughters: Kristen (Tony) Cherry of Kettering, Amber Hollon of Kettering, grandsons: Eligh and Oliver, brothers: Ron (Carrol) Shields of AZ, Dale (Joyce) Shields of Englewood, Bill (Barb) Shields of Clayton, sisters: Sandy (Mark) Schaefer of Lewisburg, Jean (Buddy) Bergman of Englewood, Joyce (Joe) Bachmann of Englewood, Pam Shields of Englewood, Kathy (Mike) Duibley of Centerville, mother-in-law: Irene Hughes of Dayton, brothers-in-law: Junior (Judy) Hughes of Dayton, Abey (Pam) Hughes of Dayton, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and beloved dog: Roscoe. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Darlene Shields and parents: William and Mary Rose (Natter) Shields Sr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church (1000 W. Wenger Road, Englewood) with Fr. Tim Knepper, C.P.P.S. as celebrant. Entombment will follow the Mass at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Brookville. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood). If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
