Samuel Charles Brooks, a well known and highly respected resident of this place passed away at the family home Saturday morning, April 13, 1912 with heart failure at the age of 73 years. Although Mr. Brooks' health had been very poor for several years yet his death came unexpected for he seemed to be as well as usual when he retired the night before. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Brooks; one son Milford Brooks of Chicago; and two daughter, Mrs. Itha Becker of Pennellville, and Miss Mabel Brooks. The funeral which was held Tuesday at 1 o'clock was largely attended. Rev. F. W. Dunning of Williamstown officiated. Burial at Williamstown cemetery.
