Teresa T. Mitchell, 57, of Delmar, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after a brave and courageous battle with a brief illness.
She was born June 16, 1958 in Salisbury, a daughter of Rosemary Weidema Hill of Delmar and the late William Taylor.
Teresa graduated from Delmar High School where she was a proud member of the band. She attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Laurel. She worked several years as a dispatcher for Burris Foods before spending the past 12 years working for Perdue in Salisbury as a dispatcher. Her family always came first and Teresa was happiest when spending time with them. They spent many hours together camping and listening to music.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Samantha “Sam” Mitchell of Delmar; a son, Joshua Mitchell of Virginia; a sister, Chris Carmine and husband, Paul of Harrington; her step-father, Roschen Hill; a special niece, Ashley Carmine of Harrington; and a special nephew, Mikie Adkins and wife, Anna, and their children, Hannah, Jacob and Gracie of Delmar. She is also survived by best friends, who were like sisters, to her, Nancy Meisenholder and Penny Nichols.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna “Muffy” Adkins; and a step-father, Cecil T. Jacob.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Reverends Ronnie Payne and Rebecca H.
