Mr. Stuart E. Beck, age 83, husband of Amy Leora Ware Beck of 606 Holly Hill Drive, Anderson, SC, died Sunday, October 05, 2003 at the Magnolias in Anderson.

Born in Kutztown, PA, on May 14, 1920, Mr. Beck was a son of the late Raymond Beck and Beulah Knittle Beck. He was retired from the Singer Company with over 20 years of service. He was a United States Army World War II veteran serving from October 6, 1939 to October 24, 1945. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church and the George Smith Bible Sunday School Class. He formerly served as deacon, chairman of the Board of Deacons, church treasurer, and the building and grounds committee.

Surviving are his wife, Amy Leora Ware Beck, of Anderson; son, Don R. Beck and his wife of Bluffton, SC, Stanley W. Beck, Sr., of Summerville, SC; and Leslie M. Beck of Anderson; daughter, Kathy B. Lively of Simpsonville, SC; daughter-in-law, Madera C. Beck of Anderson, SC; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A son, Harry S. Beck, brothers, Kermit Beck, Raymond Beck and Stanley Beck and a sister, Dorothy Beck, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Welcome Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Michael Kinard and Dr. William R. West, Jr. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home where the family received friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 6, 2003 and will be placed in the church at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2003.

The family will be at the home of a granddaughter, Lori and her husband, Michael Kinard, 2408 Lindale Road, Anderson, SC.
