Chico Record, Friday Morning, February 16, 1906, pg 4 col 4: Mrs. S.E. Moore of Oroville Died Wednesday. At an early hour Wednesday morning Mrs. S.E. Moore, better known as Mrs. Matthews, died at her home in the western part of this city, says the Oroville Register. She was a native of one of the Western States, but came to California when an infant. Her father, the late T.B. Myers of Wyandotte, moved to his ranch near Wyandotte, in 1853, or about that date, so that Mrs. Moore was one of the pioneers of the county.

She was married three times, her first husband being named Josephson, her second Matthews, and her last husband was named Moore. She was nearly always known as Mrs. Matthews and her age was 57 years, 2 months and 26 days. She leaves four surviving children, Mrs. E.E. Walsh and Mrs. Gary Ellis, Oliver Josephson and Chas. Matthews. Besides these, she leaves a brother, Marion Myers, who resides in the State of Washington; a half-brother, George S. Myers of Palermo, and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Stevenson and Mrs. M. Rutherford of Wyandotte.

The deceased was a resident of this immediate vicinity for thirty of thirty-five years.
