Sarah Davis Buie, 101, died peacefully at home in November 24, 2015.

She was born in Folkston, GA on October 15, 1914 to the late Marion Grissom Davis and Eleanor Cornelia Davis. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She lived a life of deep abiding faith in Jesus Christ as shown by the unconditional love she gave to all. She was an ardent Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan.

She was the last survivor of seven siblings and enjoyed sharing stories from their childhood. She enjoyed many card games of Setback and Phase 10 with several generations in her family. Her home was open to all and was filled with laughter, love, food and fellowship. Along with her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband: Archie A. Buie and a great grandson: Jacob Rowland.

She is survived by her 2-Daughters: Cornelia B. Hamilton and Joy B. Gill (Carlton) She was a doting grandmother to 7 grandchildren: Debbi S. Watson (Bobby), Lisa S. Rowland (Sammy), Rob Sirmans (Caryn) Cory M. Popham, Zandy G. Wilbanks (Mark), Carlyn G. Longgrear (Bo), and Heather G. Gill. She was the matriarch of a five generation family. Our family also includes special caregivers, Diane Workman, Maybell Lewis and Nina Dotson.

The family will receive friends at Mrs. Buie’s Home, 383 Old Burnt Fort Road, White Oak, Georgia 31568 on Friday, November 27 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28 at 11:00 AM at Burnt Fort Chapel, 230 Burnt Fort Chapel Road, White Oak GA 31568, with Rev. Bill Ligon and Rev. Tommy Sikes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be great grandsons: Trippe Rowland, Clark Rowland, Austin Popham, Tripp Longgrear, Lance Longgrear and great great grandson: Conner Nelson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Carter Nelson, Larry Allen, Marion Davis, Stokes Davis and Brian Huling.
