Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cherry Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Nelsen officiating. Private burial will be at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday in the church. Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, in the church. Staab Funeral Home, Springfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born Sept. 10, 1992, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Rick L. and Theresa M. (Krzyzek) Brown.
Marissa graduated from Glenwood High School in 2011 and was an alumnus of Anderson University, Anderson, Ind. She was an avid social media user. At college, she was a member of Camarada Social Club and active in Bound, a student-led group to spread awareness about human trafficking. She enjoyed spending time with her cousins, reading, baking and going to Disney World.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ruth and Anthony Krzyzek; paternal grandpa, Paul Richard “Dick” Brown; one aunt, Phyllis Krzyzek; four uncles, Ken Krzyzek, Stanley Podobinski, Harry Ernat and Denny Ruehlman; and two cousins, Tyler Krzyzek and Jennifer Ruehlman.
