Donald Milton Shull, 95, of Greenup passed away at 7:44 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Burial will be in Greenup Cemetery with military rites by Cumberland County Veterans.

Don was born on June 17, 1920, in Greenup, the son of Lon and Amy (Huston) Shull. He married Doris Jean Markwell on Nov. 10, 1945, in Olney. She preceded him in death in 2009.

Don was a farmer. He also ran Greenup Hatchery & Feed Store and worked at Ettelbrick Shoe Factory. During world War II, he served his country as a member of the United States Army, 21st Chemical Co. and was a member of the American Legion. He attended Liberty Hill and New Hope Church. Don was known not only for loving his country and being a true Patriot, but also for being a loving and caring family man; a kind neighbor and friend.

Surviving are sons, Steve (Sharon) Shull of Newton and Stan Shull of Charleston; brother, Max Shull of Greenup; sister-in-law, Carolyn Shull of Greenup; grandchildren, Brent (Dianna) Shull of Dieterich and Brian (Jennifer) Shull of Louisville; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Shull, Breanna Shull and Braxton Shull.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Basil, Ray and Charles Shull; and sisters, Ruby Newbanks, Alta Matteson and Angela Shull.
