MANSFIELD: DAVID ALLEN CLAY, 58, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at North Central Hospice in Ashland, Ohio, following a battle with cancer.

David was born on March 8, 1957 in Ashland, Kentucky to Mitchel C. Clay and Barbara J. (Hamilton) Ross. He spent most of his life in Shelby and graduated with the class of 1975. David retired from the Pool Business several years ago. He enjoyed playing the guitar, taking trips to Kentucky, and going deer hunting, trail riding and camping. He was a Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. His nickname was "hound dog". It seemed like he could make a friend wherever he went and would help out anyone that he could. David will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara J. Ross of Rush, Kentucky; two brothers, Danny Clay of Rush, Kentucky and his twin brother, Donald Clay of Mansfield; his nephew, Jeramie Huston; step-mother, Carol Clay of Shelby; step-brother, Gary Jones of Shelby; his lifetime companion, Debbra Allamon of Mansfield; step-daughter, Amy Shures; and three step-grandchildren, Colten, Michael, and Camren all of Shelby.

David was preceded in death by his father, Mitchel C. Clay in 2002; and his step-father, William Ross.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio. Funeral and graveside services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 in Ashland, Kentucky. Burial will follow at the Clay Family Cemetery, in Boyd County, Kentucky.
