Ronnie Hocking, 71, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015.
Ronnie was born in Mackay, Idaho, on Aug. 6, 1944, to Gilbert (Pat) E. Hocking and Erma (Lords) Hocking. He grew up in Mackay and resided there in his childhood home until his death. He worked and retired with the Challis Forest Service, where he made many lifelong friends.
Ronnie was a devoted friend, brother and uncle. You could always count on him to be there for anything you needed. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, always the one catching the BIGGEST fish. He also loved to hunt, and no matter how many times he'd say he wasn't going to hunt this year, he couldn't stay away. He loved to ride his four-wheeler and would take off in the mountains all by himself and spend the whole day taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. No matter how many times he rode up the Mine Hill he never got tired of it.
Ronnie will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He will live in our hearts forever and will be next to us every time we go up into the mountains or pick up our fishing poles.
Ronnie is survived by two sisters, Lola Sullivan and Marketa Rukavina, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his sisters, Patricia May and Gayle Jensen.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Mt. McCaleb Cemetery, Bar Road in Mackay, under the direction of Anderson Family Funeral Home of Arco, Idaho.
