Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Amy Claire Atkinson, age 46, who died on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Julie Atkinson. Giftbearers will be John and Bonnie Atkinson. Stephanie Hoffpauir, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace," "Ave Maria," "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," and "You Raise Me up."
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Russel and Audrey Templet; and her paternal grandparents, J. Dudley and Virginia Atkinson.
Amy Claire Atkinson was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was born in Morgan City, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. Amy was a very caring and giving person who was loved by all. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and cherished her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Martin & Castille's SCOTT Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
