FORT WORTH -- Joe William Vincent, 88, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015.

Joe was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Talpa, Coleman County, to George Churchill and Connie Fay Vincent.
He married Muriel Jean Hammons Aug. 1, 1946.

After serving in post-World War II Japan, Joe and Muriel moved to Snyder in late 1948 during an oil boom. Joe worked for Texas Electric Service Company his entire career, retiring from that company after 38 years. The couple raised their children in Snyder and Colorado City, where he was an active Boy Scout leader. They resided in Fort Worth for the last 10 years.

Joe was preceded in death in April 2015 by his wife of 69 years, Muriel; two children, Lavada and Jay Mitchell; his parents; and his brother, Max.

Survivors: Children, Letha Bell of Fort Worth, Retha Fielding of Austin and Joe of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Kevin Lindsey of Clinton, Okla., Kerry Bell of Fort Worth, John Aaron Bell of Austin, Julianna, Savannah and Parker Vincent, all of Tulsa, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Chandler and Reed Lindsey of Clinton, Okla.; sister, June Presley of Abilene; nephews, Ted Presley of Abilene and Scott Vincent of Midland; and niece, Nancy Sutphen of Fort Worth.
