From family history notes: born in Butler Co., Ohio to Samuel Sharp and Mary Elizabeth Vanetts McCotter. Samuel and Mary are said to be buried at Mapleton Cem., Sand Creek Twp., Decatur Co., Indiana. William came to Oregon as a bull-whacker for the Nathaniel Robbins wagon train. Married Mr. Robbins daughter, Zobeda and was carpenter, building wagons, and houses etc.
