Private Louis Edward Adams, brother of Mrs Neelye Estell Adams Smith, has been awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in action in France, Aug 15, 1944. He writes to his sister, that he is able to be up now and is walking in the hospital.
Mrs Smith's son, Charles Richard Smith, was also injured.
Private Adams entered the service Oct 2, 1941 and went overseas in May of 1944.
