Don Norman Morris, 72, of Dexter, New Mexico, went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. Graveside services will be Monday, November 30, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. at Hagerman Cemetery, Hagerman, New Mexico, and officiated by Elder Kemmey Morris and Elder Don Martin. He was born in Paducah, Texas, on June 7, 1943, to Cecil and Mozelle Morris. He was one of two children. He met the love of his life, Betty Catherine Cline, December of 1961. They were married June 8, 1963, and were married for 52 years. They were blessed with four children. Before he retired in 2010, he was the locksmith for McKinney Independent School District. He was a deacon of the Muleshoe Primitive Baptist Church. He loved the church and loved to lead singing. He also loved to talk to people and always had a listening ear for anyone who wanted to talk to him. He gave the biggest hugs ever. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters: Mattie Morris and Susan Morris and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; two sons: Noah Morris and wife Linda of Stamford, New York, Kemmey Morris and wife Angela of Roswell, New Mexico; two daughters: Lorena Hazelbaker and husband Steve of Amarillo, Texas, Donna Mayo and husband Andy of Dexter, New Mexico; one sister, Mary Lee Price and husband David of Amarillo, Texas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, his favorite cousin, Neva McDaniel and many more cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Mayo, Noah Morris, Richard Morris, Matthew Gilliam, Sam Mlaker, Christopher Smith, Kyle Aton, Kenneth Millican and Andy Mayo.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Muleshoe Primitive Baptist Church. Attention: Terrie Smith, P.O. Box 36, Lazbuddie, TX 79053.
