Gordon Vincent Richardson, age 88, of Sauk City, passed away October 22, 2015, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie with his loving wife at his side. Gordy was born on August 16, 1927 to Edward and Agnes (O’Brien) Richardson. Gordon was united in marriage to Barbara Ann (Schultz) on August 18, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 21, 1990. He worked as an appliance repairman for Miller Gas and Appliance since he was 16 until he retired 50 years later. He later married Debra (Ganser) Richardson on April 18, 1998. Gordy was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle who took pride in his family and enjoyed teaching many of his nieces and nephews as well as the neighborhood kids to water-ski. He had a big heart and generous spirit.

Gordy is survived by his wife, Debbie; a son Gordon Paul Richardson and daughter Beth Ann Richardson (fiancé Jeremy Patterson); grandchildren, Emma, Natalie and Aubrey Zick. Jeremy’s sons Seth, Simon and Lucas Patterson; and brother Ralph Richardson; sister-in-law, JoAnn Richardson; brother in laws Paul Maly, Leslie Schultz and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends as well as his dear buddy Bob Bongard.

Gordy is preceded in death by his first wife Barbara (Schultz) Richardson, infant son Paul Gordon Richardson, parents, Edward and Agnes (O'Brien) Richardson; infant sister, Agnes; his brothers, Joseph, (Erma) Jim (Marie), Eugene (Ruth) , Leo (Mary) and Walter Richardson; and his sisters, Mary (Waddel) Kahl, Margaret (Al) Miller, Frances (Alvin) Bavery and Kathryn Maly, sister in law Darlene Richardson, son-in law Robert Zick, and a sister in law, Janice Schultz as well as his best feline friend “Patches”.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. NORBERT’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 8944 Cty Hwy Y, Sauk City, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015. Burial will be in St. Norbert Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home and also on Tuesday morning at the funeral home, one hour prior to the Mass.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Maplewood of Sauk Prairie and Dr. John Koch for taking such good care of Gordy and all their support.

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
