Obituary, THE RECORD - Aug. 28, 2006
SWARTZ, Erma - Passed away, peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Friday, August 25, 2006, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Howard Rudy (1959) and Clifford Swartz (1999). Dear sister of Willard Lichty of Cambridge and also survived by many nieces and nephews.Predeceased by her children, Walter Rudy, Nancy and Philliss Rudy; her parents, Sidney and Lovina Lichty; brothers, Gordon and Kenneth; sister, Ada Swartzentruber. Mrs. Swartz was born on November 23, 1919 at Woolwich Township and had been a resident of the area all her life. A member of Wanner Mennonite Church and Stanley Park United Brethern Church and was very active in her churches and loved to garden.The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Monday, August 28, 2006 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Wanner Mennonite Church, Beaverdale Road, Cambridge, on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. Interment Wanner Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Wanner Mennonite Church, Stanley Park United Brethern Church or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.Tributes may be made online at www.mem.com.
