Ruby O. Armstrong was born on May 13, 1954 to the late James and Mildred Owens in Decatur, Alabama.

Just as the sun will set then rise with each and every dawn, the souls of those who lived life will eternally live on. On November 20, 2015 the sun set on one very dear, God’s angels whispered “Well done thou good and faithful servant” in her ear. She danced through heavens gates with tears of joy. Her work was completed and she has gone to be with her Heavenly Father forever more.

She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Sheffield, Alabama. She devoted herself spirutially and whole heartedly to church as a musician for the youth and fourth Sunday choirs.

She leaves to cherish three children, James P. Owens II, Huntsville AL, La’Kora N. Armstrong, Auburn WA, and Angela L. Armstrong, Waco TX, four sisters, Constance (Adrian) Yelding, Daphne AL, Shelia Madden, Tuscumbia Alabama, Rebecca (Juan) Croom, Huntsville AL, and Tracy Owens Hillsboro Alabama, three grandchildren, Jametrius D. Smith, Jakolby L. Wright, Ja’Kyrin J. Owens, a devoted and dear friend Gwen Miller, Town Creek, AL, Two god sons, Toby Lewis and Anthony Gunn. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
