Carl was born in Northern Idaho, the family moved to Silverton, OR when he was in grade school. He graduated from Silverton High School. Following school he picked up his father's vocation, as an ironworker. Carl was an Ironworker with Local #29 out of Portland, OR for 43 years. He met the love of his life Betty Fivecoats in Portland, OR at 19. They were married July 12, 1958 in Vancouver, Washington. They had 3 children; Randee, LiAnn, and Shane. They moved throughout the Pacific Northwest over the years and in the latter years were snowbirds that frequented Arizona for winter. He enjoyed collecting coins, pocket knives, and records. He also enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, and rockhounding.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Fivecoats. He is survived by his three children, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
