Bill was born on May 15, 1950, in Lancaster, Wisconsin, son of Wilbur and Ellene (Schmidt) Landers. He grew up in Greene, Iowa, on his father’s farm, spending much of his time outdoors plowing and helping with the farm chores. On May 16, 1970, Bill married Sheila Miller in Greene, Iowa. He was employed at Stoneriver as a software engineer for many years. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Bill was an avid hunter and enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada with his father, brother and brothers-in-law. He was so proud when his sons Troy and Jamie were born and loved watching them grow, never missing one of their sporting events. More bundles of joy were brought into his life with the birth of his three wonderful grandchildren. Bill was often seen snuggling with one of his boys or rocking the grandkids. He was a wonderful man who was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
