Chittenden County States Attorney
Vermont State Senate 1867-1868
Burlington City Attorney 1868-1870
Named in will: grandson Harris H. Walker
An obituary was published in The Burlington Free Press (Burlington, Vermont) on December 16, 1899. " Hon. W.L. Burnap has said of the deceased: 'From observation and study of his methedical work we have all learned much. One of my first lessons to learn from him was the great advantage gained in 'keeping cool' under trying circumstances. Time and again we have all witnessed his supreme composure, counteracting with smiles and a timely joke the effect of unexpected and damaging evidence. He was always master of the situation, proving that self-control and judicious action, if ever needed, are the most needed when disaster threatens."
