A memorial service celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on Dec. 8, 1926, in Dixon, Ill., Kay was the daughter of Hugh and Theresa (Houter) Keenan. Kay married Donald Sharp in 1948. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1984.
Kay worked as a registered nurse for the former Mercy Hospital and then for Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.
Kay was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, yard work and singing in the choir for CASI. She volunteered at the Davenport Lutheran Home.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Mark (Bonnie) Sharp of Blue Grass, Jay (Cindy) Sharp of Bettendorf, Rick (Michele) Sharp of Muscatine, Barry Sharp of Solon and Tim (Marta) Sharp of Bettendorf; daughter, Karen Sharp of Peoria, Ariz.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
