He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles and Nora Ott. He married Margaret Ann Walker on Jan. 8, 1944, in Wichita Falls, Texas, and she passed away on Feb. 6, 2013.
Surviving are two daughters: Patricia (Ott) Kiser of Glasgow and Carolyn (Ott) Riggleman of Duncansville; three sons: Kenneth and Richard, both of Altoona, and Gerald of Angola, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Janet Dorman of Altoona and Mark in Florida.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Louise (Ott) Allmond; a granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Allmond; two brothers: William and Charles; and two sisters: Grace Rowan and Mary Eleanor Dodson.
Robert was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and retired from the Van Zandt VA Medical Center after 30 years of service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and going to auctions, and he was a fan of Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service today, Nov. 24, 2015, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
