CANTON - MILDRED L. BAILEY, 91, of Canton, a former Portsmouth resident, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care in Navarre, Ohio.
A native of Portsmouth, she was born March 7, 1924 to the late Arthur C. Bailey and Edna Kratzer Bailey.
Mildred was a member and former committee person of the Scioto County Historical Society; founding member of the 1810 House Preservation Society; Boneyfiddle Association; Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority; and the Scioto County Retired Teachers Association.
A teacher, she had been a former employee of Wheelersburg High School, Portsmouth High School and retired from the former Vo-Tech.
Mildred is survived by a sister, Barbara Snodgrass of Canton, a brother, Calvin Bailey of Blue Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth. Interment will be in Copas Cemetery at Blue Creek. Visitation will be Tuesday at Daehler from 6 to 8 p.m.
