Rose Harrington, 92, of Miller and formerly of Harrold, died on Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the United Methodist Church, Harrold, with the Rev. Jenene Earl officiating.

Burial will be at Medicine Hill Cemetery, Harrold, under the direction of Reck Funeral Home, Miller.

Visitations will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Reck Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. led by the Rev. David Andrews.

Rose Thorn was born Aug. 1, 1913, to Leslie and Libby (Maxwell) Thorn in rural Sully County. She attended rural schools in Minnesota, rural Sully County and one year of high school at Onida. While attending Onida she enjoyed playing basketball.

On Dec. 21, 1932, Rose married Ralph Charles Harrington, at the Highmore home of Fred and Nancy Harrington. They had one daughter, Charlene. They made their home in Harrold for one year before moving to Onida where they resided for the next 15 years.

In 1957 the family returned to Harrold where Rose enjoyed taking care of the United Methodist Church and Medicine Hill Cemetery. Then in 1988 she and Ralph decided to retire to Miller.

Rose will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness. She always made sure her family and company where fed and fed well. No one was to leave hungry.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harrold and the senior centers of both Miller and Harrold.

She is survived by her daughter Charlene (Doug) Beckett of Miller; two grandsons, Todd (DeAnn) Beckett and Troy (Tember) Beckett both of Miller; six great-granddaughters, Kaycee, Dani, Lacey, Kodee, Cassie and Karly; three sisters, Florence Beckett, Joy (Bob) Nolan and Darlene Balcom; and two sisters-in-law, Sophie and Eunice.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Les, Enos and Donald "Buddy"; and one sister, Bertha.
