Jacob Was born in Germany and immigrated from Germany in 1854. He came to the United States with the German spelling of Hessell (Hespell). Jacob arrived in America from Rotterdam on 12/15/1854 with his wife JoAnna Haas Hessell , and his two sons Reinhard Hessell born 1851 and Englehard (Albert) Hessell born 1853. They arrived aboard the Ship Florence.
