EDWARD A. LEONE

Edward A. Leone, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY.
Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Albert F. and Concetta "Jenny" (Capizzi) Leone.
Edward graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1952 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Niagara University in 1956.
On November 19, 1955 he married his loving wife, Leila C. (Uhri) Leone at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. She predeceased him on January 13, 1990.
Ed began working at his family's furniture store, Al Leone Furniture, formerly on Pine Avenue until its closing in 1977. Edward and Leila later turned that same building into the Carousel of Flowers, where they operated for ten years. Throughout his time at the furniture store and floral shop, Edward also served as a substitute teacher until his retirement.
Mr. Leone was a well-known accordionist, talented bass and piano player performing at many local venues including Suburban Lanes, Crystal Beach and the Polish Nook Restaurant. He was a member of the Musician's Union in Niagara Falls, NY.
Edward is survived by his two children, Dr. John A. (Judith A. Pogoda-Leone) Leone of Williamsville, NY, Dana R. Evert of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren Jennifer A. Leone, Jessica A. Leone, Larry K. (Athena) Evert, Jr., Christian R. Evert and Justin E. Evert; three great-grandchildren Desire'e J., Desmond J. and Noah E.; and is also survived by several cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24th from 3:30 - 7:30 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will follow at 7:30 P.M.
If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Drive Suite 102, Amherst, NY 14226.
