Dean Edwin Duncan, born August 31, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died in San Antonio, Texas, on November 19, 2015. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Thomas Duncan, his mother, Ruth Starkey Duncan, his brother, William Davis Duncan, and cousins John Robinette Duncan, Sue Starkey Ragland, and Mary Alice Finkel Western. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara Joyce Schubert Duncan, his sons Randall William Duncan and Steven Davis Duncan and wife, Minvi, grandson, Reed, and granddaughters Jennifer, Jordana Abrenica and Jaden. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Billie Jean Gilbert Duncan, niece, Tracey Duncan Williams, grand-nephew, Cole Davis, grand-niece Brynn Elysse, and cousin, Alsea Lea Duncan Murdoch.

An Eagle Scout, Dean was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Texas A&M University, where was a member of the Last Fish Band, the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and the Ross Volunteers. Dean served as a company commander in the U.S. Army Reserves at Ft Lee, VA, and in the Texas National Guard in the 112th Armored Cavalry Regiment and the 36th Infantry Division Signal Battalion also as a Company Commander.

Dean worked in the insurance business and the computer industry until his retirement in 1999. His hobbies included magic, juggling, pen and ink drawing, and music. He was past president of the local magicians' ring and the Texas Association of Magicians and a past member of the River Art Group and the American Artists Professional League.

He was a member of Evers Road Christian Church where he served as elder, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer.
