John C. Walker 48, 1208 Harris, died today at the Independence Hospital. He had been a memeber of the Independence Fire Depeartment for 15 years and had been on sick leave since May. He was a member of firemen's Local No. 781. A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Walker had lived here since a child. He was a member of the East 39th Street RLDS Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Walker of the home, two sons, William C. Walker 820 South Pleasant, and Charles B. Walker, 15503 E. 37th Terr, a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Adolphsen, 7324 Linwood, Kansas City: Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Kozak,18622 E 39th and Mrs. Marguerite McEvoy, Phoenix Arizona, and Four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Carson Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery.
