Carlos Antonio Conde
Carlos Antonio age 80 passed from this life on March 13, 2015 in Dallas, TX. Carlos was born in El Paso, TX on September 4, 1934 to the late Amparo M. Baca. He graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, TX in May 1952. After graduation, he proudly served his country for three years of active service in the U. S. Navy and five years in the U. S. Naval Reserves receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. While in the Navy he served as an electronics technician (communications) which set him on his career path. While at Texas Western College in El Paso and The University of Texas at Austin he studied engineering. Carlos was on the cutting edge of telecommun- ications while working at Collins Radio. At Genioss System, a division of Data General Corporation, he was a key member of the Genioss Integrated Office Switching system product development and marketing team. At Acatel USA, he was on the ground floor in software development and marketing projects. Upon retirement in 1999, Carlos enjoyed testing his skill at the slot machines and traveling with his companion of 48 years, Ray Witherspoon. Carlos was an avid baseball and football fan. He loved to watch his teams (professional and high school) in action. Preceded in death by his mother and his beloved companion, Ray Witherspoon, his family survivors are many cousins in El Paso, TX and close, longtime friends. A Celebration of Life Service and reception will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, 6525 Inwood Rd., Dallas, TX. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to the Joseph Ray Witherspoon El Centro College Student Scholarship Fund with the DCCD Foundation, 1601 S. Lamar, Dallas, 75215, or the 365 Club at Resource Center Dallas, 2701 Reagan Street, Dallas, TX 75219.
