Jimmie Lee Foster was born on May 29, 1941 at 3:20 a.m. to Carson Herbert Foster and Vera Jean Turner at the Sutter County Hospital in Yuba City, California. He spent his young years going to various schools as his father worked building highways in California, and they moved quite frequently. When his father starting driving trucks, he would often accompany his dad on trips, therefore getting to stay out of school at least once or twice a week. He would also live with his paternal grandmother when his father was on the road. Jimmie graduated from Hiram W. Johnson Senior High School in 1958 in Sacramento, California. He entered the Navy Seabees out of high school in 1958 and served until 1961 when he entered the US Army 82nd Airborne Military Police Company in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was honorably discharged in 1966 due to his father being ill. Jimmie was married six times. His first wife had his three children, two girls and a boy. He lived in California, Colorado and Texas during his adult years with a variety of jobs. He owned his own car detailing business in California which he sold to move up to the mountains because his wife at the time had cancer. He worked for the Campbell Soup Company. He sold cars. He worked for his uncle’s French restaurant until his uncle died. He managed a mobile home park. He owned his own janitorial business and had to sell it because he was sick and had his first bypass surgery during this time. When he met Mary, his fifth wife, they lived in Texas and managed a marina. Jimmie managed a storage facility with Mary in Tulsa, Oklahoma after they left the marina. In 2007, he started working at Lowes in Tulsa, Oklahoma and transferred to the Lowes store in Bixby in 2009 and worked there as an FSA until September of 2015. After Mary passed away in 2013, Jimmie met Elissa on craigslist. He responded to an ad she had placed, and they both started talking on August 16, 2013 and had their first date on August 19, 2013. A few days later, Elissa and her beagles moved in with him. They also became the foster parents to her nephew. Jimmie proposed to Elissa on February 14, 2014 and were married on May 29, 2014, his birthday. He died peacefully at Saint Francis Hospital on October 11, 2015 due to a variety of health issues. Jimmie was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, loved his job at Lowes and was a wonderful and loving husband to Elissa, uncle to James II and daddy to Lucky and Elisabeth.
