Kathy (Kathryn) Louise Hull was the “CORNERSTONE” of the Albright/Hull home. Our family wants to share with you just how Kathy was known to inspire and be the “cornerstone” of many faucets of her life. She started her journey when she came to Iowa on the train with her “sister” who was still a twinkling to come for another ten years. Mom always said Ella (Kathy’s sister) was her real live baby doll and doted on her til she left to go to college. Kathy was able to go to Cedarville University (formerly known as Cedarville College) where she had obtained her BS in Elementary Education.

Kathy met a tall-dark and handsome gentlemen on campus who noticed her because she wore this white Russian hat and could spot her a mile across campus. After several Saturdays of working together and after it took 2-hours to get the nerve to ask her out, they went on their 1st date on February 12th. As Kathy says, the rest is history, and Kathy married David Hull on June 14, 1969.

Kathy was the cornerstone of their household while David was finishing up with Medical school, and that is when she learned how to decorate their beautiful home for different holidays, seasons, and make their home a place where their door was always open for company. Kathy had a unique style of showing her creativitity whether it was decorating a beautiful table for her husband around her beautiful Dining Room table or a household of church attenders for social gatherings. Kathy would give Martha Stewert a run for her money! Kathy had always opened her home to Missionaries or anybody else that was traveling thru and made them feel like they were part of the family.

Kathy had two beautiful daughters, Wendy Hull of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Ginger Wiley of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kathy doted on her girls at home til they went to school, and decided she would put her education to use by being a Preschool Teacher, and then a few years later a permanent substitute teacher. Kathy was well liked by many students, because she gave them each attention and made them feel like their thoughts and opinions counted. When her youngest was in high school, many of her friends mentioned how they enjoyed Kathy, because she doted on them and listened to them. They all remember how she would give them a surprise and some of the reasons how they would win this would be because they were kind to another student, showed interest and participated in class, or how Kathy would show them that they were unique and special, and not just another student who touched her heart.

After teaching, Kathy worked with David for 20-years as his Office Manager. Kathy was the cornerstone of her husband’s career, where she did the Administrative side knowing how much her husband just wanted to practice medicine.

On October, 20th, 1995, Kathy became a Grandma to her “favorite” Grandchild, Hannah Anastacia Grace Wiley. Grandma and Hannah would swing on the porch swing and sing “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” at the top of their lungs and let me tell you – Grandma was so proud that the whole neighborhood block would hear their sweet melody blocks away. Grandma was there to teach and guide her granddaughter for 20-years from school gatherings to academic accomplishments, and watching her succeed at Cedarville University where she is learning to put Christ at the forefront of her daily walk.

In the later years of her career, she used her talents again and was the cornerstone to Pastor Lightfoot at Rustic Hills Baptist Church, where once again she was able to use her creativity and office skills to handle daily tasks and situations so that Pastor Lightfoot was able to lead and guide his congregation. Kathy was always one step ahead of any social gathering or event, and knew just how to make new people feel welcome and help them get connected so they felt like they belong and not just a face in a note of encouragement, or a warm meal if they were in the hospital or just needed to be uplifted.

Kathy was the cornerstone to her family by being the first on both sides of the families. She enjoyed playing cards with her brother Tim, and her Mom, and watching Racing or Football with her brother, Bob. Kathy, also, doted on her Nieces and nephews and wanted to be a part of their lives and made it a point to be involved throughout the years.

Kathy and Ella were going to take a “BIG” vacation this upcoming January, but God had better plans for the two of them. In January 2015, Kathy, was diagnosed with cancer, and instead of being devastated, she turned to her faith and put God at the forefront! So instead of having one “BIG” vacation, God let them have multiple times of getting together to spend as much time together as possible and let her spend time with family, which meant the world to her.

She used her “Albright/Forsythe” stubbornness and bucked the system of the protocol of what the Oncologists suggested, and put this all in God’s hands and walked the walk of faith with her Lord to have the “Quality” of Life. If Kathy said it once, she said it a thousand times these past 11-months, it is a “Win-Win” situation! Either God is going to heal this and what a story she would have to tell others about her walk with God or she is going to be healed into heaven.

Well, Kathy, once again you were right - you did win, and have been healed into heaven on November 21, 2015
