Mildred was born Mildred Maxine Robison in Cutler, California.
She attended local schools and graduated from Orosi High School in 1944.
Her working years were spent at the Orosi Bank where she was the secretary for 19 years.
Mildred and Sylvan Butts, also of Orosi, were married on March 16, 1946, and built their home in Orosi where they raised their family. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mildred was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where she loved to sing and serve in the Women's Mission Circle. She was very talented and loved painting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Millie, as she was known by those close to her, leaves behind a legacy of friendship and love.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Gwendolyn and Joel Baker.
Mildred is survived by her husband, Sylvan Butts; three children, Richard Butts and his wife Dee, Gary Butts and his wife Donna, and Jeanne Dee and her husband David; five grandchildren, Shirley Ollech and her husband Bernhard, Susan Gooden and her husband Keith, Robert Butts and his wife Jennifer, Rebecca Zuniga and her husband Richard, and Jennifer Dee; and four great-grandchiidren, Jacob and Madison Gooden, Robert Ollech, and Alyssa Zuniga.
Visitation will be held at Dopkins Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 28, 2006, from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Orosi First Baptist Church, 41641 Eddy Rd. in Orosi on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
