BANAGHAN, VERA (STENSON) of East Greenwich died Saturday at Riverview Healthcare, Coventry. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Banaghan, her first husband was William G. Gessner, Sr.

Born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian (Johnson) Stenson. Mrs. Banaghan had worked for Paolo Insurance Co. of Cranston for many years. She was an avid Red Sox fan. She is survived by two sons, William G. Gessner, Jr., Donald M. Gessner and a daughter, Lyn A. Roy. Five grandchildren, Kathie Middlemiss, Sara and John Gessner and Joe and Kristin Roy. Three great grandchildren, Jerry, Nick and Lyscia Middlemiss. She was the sister of Aileen Libby and the late Evelyn Sheahen and Raymond Stenson, Jr. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church Peirce St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in Wilcox Rakeville Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers gifts to St. Luke's Church will be appreciated.
