The county in which he was born in was part of Lincoln County until 1842, when it became Catawba County, North Carolina.

Elcanah Lot Constantine Turbire Wilson was known simply as "Cana" to those around him. Records of him as a young single man note he is in Sullivan County, living with the family of his married sister Edna Wilson Yokley and her family, working as a millwright. There, he married Sarah Edna Willard.

They migrated west, as many of his generation did, settling and farming acreage around the area of what was then the town of Scyene, in Dallas County, Texas.

Cana and Sara are buried in the Wilson Family Plot, Blk 4, Lot 2, at Mesquite Cemetery, Holley Rd & Ebrite, Mesquite, TX. Their headstones simply state: E. Wilson and S. Wilson, and are in bad condition.

There are other Wilson graves marked in the family plot and as many as 12 unmarked graves, including that of his wife, Sara who is noted in the family Bible as buried by his side. Others, with markers, surrounding his grave include: his infant grandson - Pinkney Wilson; his sons - Tomas Wilson & Jon "Buckalew" Wilson; a child nephew - Willard, and a Mrs. Coats - of whom it is not known yet how or if she is connected to the Wilson family.
