NEW ALBANY TRIBUNE OBITUARY – 01/26/1961 Mrs. Eleanor Litch, 73, widow of John Litch, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Edward's Hospital at New Albany. She lived at Georgetown and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Lanesville. She is survived by five sons, Wilbert Ott, Madison, Marvin and Charles Litch, both of Corydon, John Litch, Georgetown, and Robert Litch, New Albany; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Stilger, New Albany, and Mrs. Alva Fife, Floyds Knobs; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Richmer, Lanesville, and Mrs. Lee Stilger, Georgetown; 16 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be at the Gehlbach & Resch Funeral Home pending removal to Lanesville where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Eleanor Litch, 73, of Georgetown, widow of John Litch passed away last Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock in St. Edward's Hospital in New Albany where she was admitted a short time before. Mrs. Litch, a daughter of Peter and Louise Grantz Michels was born in Harrison County. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her remains were at the Gehlbach-Resch Funeral Home where the Rosary was recited last Friday evening at 7:00 o'clock. Requiem mass was conducted last Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. Clement Hunger. Interment was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Mervin and Joseph Wismann Jr., Forrest Richmer, Leonard, Maurice and Jerome Stilger. Surviving are five sons and two daughters, Wilbert Ott at Madison, Marvin and Charles Litch of Corydon, John Litch of Georgetown, Robert Litch and Mrs. Henrietta Stilger of New Albany and Mrs. Alva (Norma) Fife of Floyds Knobs. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Herman Richmer of Lanesville and Mrs. Lee Stilger of Georgetown.
