Thank You to Roger Walcott Whiting for the following information:

Edenezer Adams, son of John Adams and Thankful Washburn Adams.

Ebenezer married Lydia Cook of Kingston, MA. Together Ebenezer and Lydia had eleven children, seven boys and four girls; three died on or before their twenty-first birthday.

One of the many adventurous Adams, Ebenezer was a seafaring man most of his life, being the second of four generations of Adams to take to the sea. From the late 1780's to late 1790's, Edenezer made voyages to Latin America, East Indies and England where he participated in prosperous trade.

Ebenezer Adams died in 1820 at seventy-six years of age. In his will, demonstrating his care and concern for children, Ebenezer directed that the proceeds from the sale of his farm be invested and the income used to establish and support "The Adams School" for the education of the female children of all or any Christian parents in Kingston.
