Robbie Jean Phillips, 56, of Crossett died Saturday, September 18, 2004, at Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Paris, TN, she had lived in Crossett for the past 37 years. She was a former Wal-Mart employee and a member of Living Testament Church of God in Christ.


Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Charles Phillips; four sons, Anthony Phillips of Jacksonville, Mark Phillips and wife Icie, Robert Phillips and wife Angel and Christopher Phillips, all of Little Rock; two daughters, Charlesia Nalls and Marshel McQuay and husband Frederick, all of Crossett; six brothers, Robert Tharpe and Marvin Burton, both of Paris, Leonard Tharpe and Ronnie Tharpe, both of Stafford, VA, Jimmie Tharpe of Fayetteville, TN, and Michael Tharpe of Clarksville, TN; eight sisters, Joyce Phillips of Silsbee, TX, Carol Kennedy of Conover, N.C., Carolyn Gladney of Fayetteville, N.C., Linda Bennett, Doris Whitfield and Teresa Tharpe, all of Paris, Sandra Pearson of Radcliff, NY, and Lela Teague of Nashville, TN; and 19 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Phillips; and her parents, Robert Lawrence and Sadie Haynes Tharpe.

Funeral services were Friday, September 24, at 11 a.m. at Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ with Elder Nolan Phillips officiating. Burial was at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were Terry Phillips, Lance Tatum, Terry Gilliam, Cleo Smith, Kenneth Mason and Eric Holmes.
